How did you get into photography?
I got into photography as a kid. Both of my parents used to take pictures. My mother is still a professional photographer in the Bay Area. My father used to develop his own photos in his lab in our basement. When I moved away to San Diego my mom bought me a film camera, and it was on from there.

What is your preparation process  before a shoot?
Before doing a fashion shoot, I usually listen to a lot of good deep house music and look at fashion magazines. After that I like to look at my clients existing pictures and think about what I would do differently.

What do you love to shoot and why?
I love to take fashion pictures the most. There are little or no rules when it comes to shooting them. You can be as expressive as you dare to.

What makes for a good client?
A good client, is a client that listens, as well knows what they want. Even if they have never been in front of the camera, they still know that they want to be a fashion model. Also a good client is on time, and easy to work with. Bad attitudes are so unnecessary.

In what ways can a client inspire you?
Clients inspire me with their vision, character, and fearlessness. That”s always refreshing when I get all three.

What is your unique style that separates you from others in the industry?
My unique style is when I shoot - my models are directed from a place of happiness always. Even when I am shooting something really dark and scary. I don’t agree with the idea of being bitchy or difficult to get the shot I want .

Where would you like to take your photography career?
I am taking my photo career as far as I can. I am completing four coffee table photo books , and another set from my burning man trips. I shoot the caliber of pictures that I would consider to be relevant and professional. Taschen here I come !

Giving the body of work thus far, what type of exhibit would you want to have?
I would have a male fashion exhibit.

What have been some of the feedback that you received from clients?
The best feedback that I have been given is that I am fun to work with and easy to communicate ideas. I think that because I have been in front of the camera as well, I know what to say to convey an idea.
Share the image of your favorite work and why?
I really like this shot because of its simplicity. No Lights , no make up, just a natural shot in water.
